*Testing Procedures*
Cylinder Repairs: All cylinders are pressure washed, disassembled, then assessed which includes: Tolerances are documented on the work order such as Piston OD, Barrel ID, Head OD and Rod OD. Premature failures can occur if this step is skipped and tolerances may be excessive. At this point components are inspected for chrome condition and barrel bore condition. We remanufacture required components in house, and stock chrome up to 4" or 120mm in 1045 material or 1050 Induction Hard Chrome. All packing, seals, etc. are replaced using factory OEM material, then the unit is tested. We test each cylinder @ full rated pressure (up to 4000PSI) and test in 3 stages; fully extended, fully retracted, and then as a last test mid-stroke ehich is done by blocking extend port and pressurizing cylinders retract port at a partial stroke state. This will determine if we have internal piston by-pass. If transfer occurs, rod will "creep" because of the area difference between the retract and extend section of the cylinder. This assures all components pass test.
Pump/Motor/Valve Repair:
All pumps, motors, & valves are repaired in a similar manner with the exception parts cannot be manufactured in house. We stock an extensive inventory for the components we see on a regular basis. Testing is done on either a 100HP test stand that we have run over 30,000 units on since 1980, and a new test stand that is 300HP with digital instrumentation. Both stands are capable of testing motors as motors on a separate dynamic brake which will monitor input pressure case drain, temperature, and developed torque. All components are adjust to OEM spec or customers requirements. All internal parts (piston units) are lapped, polished, and verified within spec.
